Based in Cambridge and the surrounding villages “Little Hands Nursery Schools” provide quality pre-school education and childcare to children of 2 to 5 years of age by offering a stimulating learning environment and a very high adult to child ratio which means we are able to give more individual attention to all our children.
The unique “Little Hands” building block approach to the provision of sessions allows us to construct fully flexible packages of sessions tailor made to individual requirements which are of benefit to parents. Sessions are booked for term time (38 weeks per year) with optional holiday clubs available for children aged 2 – 8 years at Linton & Bartlow, Melbourn and Newton. Nursery School is your child's first step into the world of formal education, a step taken during their most receptive and formative years. At “Little Hands” we appreciate that your child’s Nursery Schools experience will provide the basis for starting school so it is essential that these are happy times for your child allowing confidence, independence and learning skills to develop properly.
The “Little Hands” curriculum is closely based on the Early Years Foundation Stage using the six early learning goals for 2 to 5 year olds and we apply our philosophy of “Learning Through Play” to ensure that learning is fun, giving opportunity for success, developing confidence and acquiring new skills in preparation for full time education.
The Ofsted inspectorate found all “Little hands” Nursery Schools to be either “Outstanding” or “Good” with both the Newton and Bourn Nursery Schools holding the Effective Early Learning Quality Assurance and Sure Start Investors in Children awards.
The Nursery Education Fund (NEF) is available for all children the term after their third birthday and can be taken during both term time and Holiday Club. Over term time the funding gives 15 hours per week.
