Philosophy
Our philosophy is to provide a high quality, inclusive early years care and education for all the children at our nurseries.
We use a curriculum base of Learning Through Play which provides an environment for children to grow as individuals by developing confidence, independence and problem solving. This approach is strongly supported by Early Years research.
For Learning Through Play to be effective in a nursery setting; the child needs the same level of individual support and understanding that parents provide at home.
To provide quality care and help a child confidently grow as an independent learner we believe it is important to have:
-
A high staff to child ratio to support the child.
-
Individual, child centred planning
-
A close link with parents
-
A flexible booking system to allow each family to book the hours at nursery the child and family need.
Origins
Little Hands opened its first nursery over 30 years ago to provide a quality experience for any child irrespective of their ability or need. To do this effectively we needed a high staff to child ratio, individual learning and flexible booking and it quickly became apparent that this was a formula many families wanted for their children.
Since beginning in 1991 we have grown to four nurseries and been a part of hundreds of children’s early years.
